The Workshop Tour

A short, optional walkthrough of Workshop mode, started from the Start Workshop Tour button in the bottom bar.

The Workshop tour shows you where everything for running a session lives. Like the Diagram Tour, it works on the real editor rather than screenshots: it spotlights each part with a highlight ring and a short explanation. It adds nothing to your canvas, takes under a minute, and you can leave at any point.

Starting the Tour

The tour never starts or pops up on its own. When you're in Workshop mode on a tab you can edit, press Start Workshop Tour in the bar along the bottom of the editor, just left of Search. On a phone the button shows only its play icon.

The button doesn't appear on a locked tab, in an embed, or for someone who can only view or take part. If you have a complex element selected, the button offers that element's tour instead; select nothing to get the Workshop tour back. It stays there after you've taken the tour, so you can press it again whenever you like.

What It Covers

  1. Collaborate: Ask and Session, the palette's session kit after Layout: Ask holds votes, polls and quizzes, and Session the tools, records, reactions, selection modes and places to go. See Collaborate. The rest of the palette is the Diagram Tour's.
  2. Run the Room: the Timer, Vote and Poll buttons in the bottom-right corner, which run for everyone without placing anything. See Session Tools.
  3. Bring People In: the Share button, where a Participant link lets people add notes, vote and answer without changing the rest. Left out where there is no Share button.

Each step has Next, Back and Skip tour. The last card, You're ready to run a workshop, links to the Workshop mode article and ends the tour with Start. If you leave Workshop mode or switch tab mid-tour, it ends as skipped.

Replaying the Tour

Press Start Workshop Tour again, or start it from Settings:

Open Settings from the editor and go to Tours.
Switch Workshop Tour back on.

Close Settings. If you're in Workshop mode the tour starts straight away; otherwise the Start Workshop Tour button is there the next time you work in Workshop.
